Is there anyone who takes non-pony vector requests or point commissions?
Look at you saying I dont you know much. Shows what you know what gave you the impression that I needed an explanation about what the differences between a vector and raster in the first place. I all ready knew all that about how vectors create images using mathematical equations and raster being pixel based to create images. That whole time you were just running your mouth telling me shit I already knew because you automatically assumed I was stupid hence you have a superiority complex. Stop talking down to people you do not even know because in the end all it does it make you look stupid instead. You can go run your fruity little club into the ground with that attitude.
shmartin, we declined your request because your work was not up to the standards of the group. Your line are is made with strokes and looks mechanical, your fail to taper your ends and use blunt or curved ends your coloring is also uninspired and pretty simple but that did not really factor into the decision.

When you asked why we explained ourselves and in no way acted like we were superior we simply stated the reason and answered your questions in a calm manner.

I'm sorry you feel like we dissed your work but due to the reasons already stated we will not be currently excepting your work to this group. If you look at the examples and improve your work feel free to resubmit it and we will reevaluate our decision.

I wish you the best of luck in your work and if you would like a more in depth critique please ask and I will see if I can put together something more substantial for you.
Why to be hypocritical. "Your line are is made with strokes and looks mechanical, your fail to taper your ends and use blunt or curved ends your coloring is also uninspired and pretty simple but that did not really factor into the decision."But then you turn around and say this "If you look at the examples and improve your work feel free to resubmit it and we will reevaluate our decision.". Your essentially saying that you do not like my style and that it has nothing to do with your decision but then turn around and say I need to improve my work. Screw you. I do my my lines that was on purpose. You do not see taper ends of lines or lines with varying thinness in anime. Seriously just look. To me taper ends or varying thinness look "uninspired" and not natural in the anime style but you dont see me telling other artist they need to "get good". Were I take issues with your group is that you decline other artist simply because you disagree with their style and skill level. If you truly cared about art and creative freedom you would not have such a judgmental system in place.
I am not being hypocritical, I'm saying your work is simple and unrefined and needs work. That's a critique.

I'm not your mother I don't have to post your art on my fridge, think of this more as an art gallery, only the best works get in and the substandard work gets denied.

If I said you were unable to resubmit your work to be reevaluated then I would be a hypocrite but if you reread my reply I said you were free to do so and even offered to give some advice/critiques to help you be accepted.

If it helps I am a Professional Artist and Designer with over 20 years in the industry I am active in the community by help running this group, putting my own money up for the contest that we run here as well as offering advise or critiques I also created the tutorial that was linked to you earlier. We denied your work because we want this group to be only the best of what can be done and if you look through the galleries I hope you can see that.

If you do nothing else please take a look at the video tutorials while you may think that we are being stuck up assholes (I'm and ass but I do try to not be stuck up) I do think they could help your work.

Are you not accepting contributors or something?
We are, but there are some standards.  One of them is the use of strokes, which is frowned upon.  It's best that you learn to use fills with the pen tool instead.  I can't really help you in learning how to do it since you use raster based programs like GIMP/SAI and am unaware of what tools they provide that could help achieve fills.  Virtually all of us use vectoring programs like Illustrator or Inkscape instead.  This Illustrator tutorial helps with the basics if interested in learning: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g0cRv…
